Lisa A. Post is the owner and president of surety bond agency Edward J. Post Co., Inc. As a Medford, New Jersey resident, Lisa A. Post also serves as a member of the Pinelands Regional Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). The Pinelands Regional CERT, a group of certified and trained citizens, helps local communities in emergency situations.

Responding to the cities of Medford, Bass River, Tabernacle, and Shamong, the Pinelands Regional CERT is comprised of over 130 members, all of whom have completed CERT training from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The Pinelands Regional CERT participates in training exercises and programs provided by local fire stations, electric companies, and FEMA. They operate under the direction of the Tabernacle Office of Emergency Management.

Those seeking to join the Pinelands Regional CERT must first go through basic training in areas like first aid, emergency management, disaster simulation, and medical operations. Training typically takes about 18 hours to complete, scheduled in chunks of two to four hours. Training courses and equipment are provided for free.

If you are not in the Pinelands area, your local community may already have a CERT program. If not, you can learn more about starting one at FEMA.gov.
